A social crypto and cash wallet in your pocket

Role

Product design lead

Summary

Bundle (acquired by $20B Binance)is a social payment wallet that allows users to trade cryptocurrencies, send and receive fiat, and save in dollars and other currencies.
As the founding designer, I designed a peer-to-peer payment network feature in a new market, that grew to process $20m in transactions; and built-out a remote collaborative team of product and graphic designers

The challenge

Discovery and Definition

Existing wallet apps had tedious onboarding steps and used a lot of technical/crypto language. They didn't cater to the customer that was new to crypto or trying to learn trading. The problem was easy to identify and the team knew that we had to design the simplest wallet that eduated users as much as it helped them buy, trade and exchange assets

I downloaded 40 crypto apps; 20 custodial and 20 non-custodial wallets; created screen recordings of the different segments and created a breakdown of pros and cons. In addition to conducting research with friends, mutuals and strangers that fit different personas of crypto users: crypto newbie, crypto enthusiast and crypto native

The solution / approach

A simple and intuitive design

I designed the first version of the wallet and iterated up many versions with feature additions designed to scale.
